Other successful and traditional events of nationwide
importance also include the well-known Literary Kežmarok
(Literárny Kežmarok), which builds on the rich literary
history of the local Lyceum. In 2018, the 53rd year of
Literary Kežmarok (Literárny Kežmarok) was held. Among
the other international events, it is important to mention
the Festival of Culture and Mutuality (Sviatok kultúry a
vzájomnosti), of which the main organizer is the Museum of
Carpathian-German culture (Múzeum kultúry karpatských
Nemcov) and the Carpathian-German Society (Karpatsko
nemecký spolok) in Slovakia. The 23rd year of this event was
held in 2018. Another international event, which is held in
the town of Kežmarok as well, is the International Festival
of Children’s Folklore Ensembles – National Costume Dolls
(Medzinárodný festival detských folklórnych súborov –
Krojované bábiky), which was held for the 22nd time in 2018.
The Iskra Kežmarok Film Club has been successfully
in operation for eight years now. In 2016, it won the
award of Best Slovak Film Club for its activities delivered
by the Association of Slovak Film Clubs. The film crew
of Jakubisko has even shot the film here twice. They
were primarily casting people of Kežmarok for shooting
the parts of the film Feather Fairy II (Perinbaba II)
taking place around the Basilica and in the interior
of the Wooden Articular Church. The popular and successful
traditional events in the town also include the Festival of
Student Craft (Festival študentského remesla), the Summer
Theatre Festival (Letný divadelný festival) and the Film
