Artists, not only from the district of Kežmarok, but also
from Poprad, are organised in the Kežmarok Artists Club.
The Kežmarok Philatelists 54-12 Club is the initiator of
issuing stamps with the Kežmarok theme.
Two primary art schools (ZUŠ) and one secondary
art school operate in the town. A number of famous
writers, artists, sculptors, directors, photographers
and designers come from Kežmarok. These include
painters Eva Končeková, Gabriela Kornajová, Pavol
Wavrek, Vladimír Krausz, writers Nora Baráthová,
Peter Petras, director and screenwriter Juraj Herz and
others.
