Kežmarok land area in the high tatra mountains

The borders of the Kežmarok land area were designated in the town privilege in 1269. The land area reached up to
the High Tatra Mountains – e.g. the White Water Valley (Bielovodská dolina), the Green Lake of Kežmarok (Kežmarské
Zelené pleso), etc. belonged to Kežmarok. The first known trip to the Tatra Mountains was accomplished in 1565 by the
owner of Kežmarok Castle Beata Laska, and the first climbing in 1615 by a Kežmarok student Dávid Frölich.
